ECD Woman Project
We are proud to announce the ECD Woman Project, aimed at training 1,500 Early Childhood Development (ECD) Practitioners in line with the South African government’s goals. This project is the first phase of our broader commitment to train and place 10,000 ECD Practitioners in ECD Centres across various provinces over the next five years, ensuring that every child in South Africa has access to quality early learning and development opportunities.
South African Government’s ECD Strategy
The South African government has set ambitious goals to address the shortage of ECD practitioners and ensure universal access to quality ECD services by 2030. Key aspects of this strategy include:
- Expanding Access: Increasing access to ECD programmes, particularly in underserved communities.
- Strengthening Quality: Enhancing the quality of ECD services through comprehensive practitioner training and support.
- Infrastructure Development: Developing infrastructure and setting resource norms and standards.
- Integrated Service Delivery: Promoting integrated service delivery across health, nutrition, social protection, and parenting support.
- Social Compact for ECD: Engaging various stakeholders, including government, social partners, businesses, and donors, in a collaborative effort to achieve these goals.
Our Commitment
We are passionate about education and are dedicated to supporting these governmental goals to ensure quality education for children aged 2-6 across the country. We aim to empower women through our ECD training programmes, providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the field of early childhood development.
How You Can Contribute
We are looking for ECD Centres in Gauteng to provide workplace experience for the 1,500 candidates we will be training in the ECD Level 4 QCTO qualification and ECD Level 5 ETDP SETA programmes. Our goal is to assist these centres in gaining access to adequately trained staff, ensuring that each school in South Africa benefits from qualified ECD Practitioners.
